Patchings Art Festival is a leading UK celebration of art, bringing together the art world and those who enjoy art. The event allows you to immerse yourself into the world of painting and indulge in your favourite pastime.
Set in the rolling fields of Nottinghamshire, England, the Patchings Art Centre transforms the large grounds where it resides into a vibrant pop-up village dedicated to art.
St Cuthberts Mill is proud to be one of the leading sponsors at this year’s festival, and we have an excellent line-up of exciting artists who will be painting LIVE at the show.
Inside the ST CUTHBERTS MILL FESTIVAL MARQUEE, experience inspiring painting demonstrations where our artists share tips on how they create their distinctive work.
DAVID BELLAMY

July Saturday 15 July
David is a prolific author of watercolour books and
responsible for showing a generation how to paint. He is also a regular
contributor to Leisure Painter magazine. His paintings are all created from
first-hand experience, with his original sketches often showing signs of being
done in pouring rain, the washes frozen in intricate patterns, mud-splattered,
and even one or two blood-stained. David travels widely in search of subjects
to paint and is especially fascinated by mountains, the Artic in its various
moods, and the desert scenery in the Middle East. In search for fascinating
subjects to paint he has fallen over a crocodile in Kenya, sketched on
dog-sledges in Greenland, drawn ephemeral moonlight effects on a glacier in his
underwear, and taught spear-hugging Maasai warriors to sketch in Tanzania.

his paintings and is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. Having
painted for the past 40 years, one of his favourite working methods is to get
out in nature (in all weathers) with paints, a sketchbook and a hot flask of
